GOD HAS DONE GREAT THINGS

With two people saying yes to God we have seen wonderful things happen. Our founders, Frank & Phyllis Dupree, said yes to God and He took them up on that. Before long others came along and the vision became a reality, a Church was born and from that day until this day lives are changed!
Our History…

Living Water started out as a Prayer Meeting in Frank & Phyllis Dupree’s living room in Laurel, NY on Long Island’s east end. By the fall of 1977 the Lord had placed it it their heart to establish a Church that would preach salvation through Jesus Christ and the baptism of the Holy Spirit and on January 1, 1978, we moved into a storefront building in Jamesport, NY. As Living Water continued to grow, we knew the church needed more space and a place of our own where we could continue to grow and reach more people with God’s message of hope. We purchased property on the border of Aquebogue and Riverhead and built our first church building. For the next seven years, we conducted several building projects, adding classrooms, offices, a new sanctuary and more.

In November of 1979, George Dupree was ordained as an Associate Pastor. George and his wife Carolyn served in children’s and youth ministries. George also served as the leader of the worship ministry for many years.

In August of 1988, Pastor Rick Saladon was ordained into the ministry of Living Water as an Associate Pastor, serving in the teaching ministries at the church. In October of 1991, Pastor Frank turned the position of lead pastor over to Pastor George Dupree.

The current Pastoral Ministry consists of Senior Pastors George and Carolyn Dupree and Assistant Pastor Joel Dupree.

Pastor Frank Dupree went to heaven on December 28, 2018 & Phyllis Dupree joined him on March 19, 2020. They shared life together for over 70 years! Our loss is heaven’s gain.

Today, a couple hundred people call Living Water Church home and we would be glad to have you as a part of our growing family!

We have far out grown the living room and the storefront days, and we have continued to outgrow our facilities and we believe that all of that is a sign of a healthy church. Most importantly, we still continue to reach people in every way possible in order to give them the opportunity to really know God in a personal way.

For more than four decades, we have seen God do amazing things in and through this church. We are so humbled and amazed by the love and grace that God shows us every day and how He has blessed us with such a great church family. Living Water is a church consisting of people of all ages, ethnicities and cultures. Although we are different in many ways, we have this in common — we’re all interested in growing in our love and relationship with Jesus Christ.

Whether you are someone seeking to know God or a person who has received Jesus into your life, Living Water Church has something for you!
