Finding Strength When You're Running on Empty - Day 5
Day 5: Standing Strong in Your Weakness
Reading: 2 Corinthians 12:7-10
Devotional: Paul's thorn in the flesh teaches a counterintuitive truth: God's power is perfected in weakness. When you're strong, you take credit. When you're weak, God gets glory. David faced Goliath not in his own strength but "in the name of the Lord Almighty." He collected stones while praying, "Give me strength, God—I opened my big mouth and now I need You." The world challenges your faith daily, making you feel inadequate. But God doesn't call the equipped; He equips the called. Bring Him your tiredness, discouragement, fear, and battles. You may not leave with every answer, but you'll leave with strength. You may not see the complete change, but you'll know God is with you. His strength never runs out, and it's available to you right now.
Reflection: How can you embrace your weaknesses today as opportunities for God's strength to be displayed?
Closing Prayer: Father, thank You that Your strength never fails. Forgive me for the times I've relied on my own abilities instead of Your power. Help me to press into Your presence daily, to wait patiently when needed, and to trust that You're working even when I can't see it. Renew my strength so I can soar, run, or simply walk—whatever You call me to do today. In Jesus' name, Amen.
