Breaking ChainsThrough Worship Day 2
Day 2: The Spirit of Adoption
Reading: Romans 8:14-17
Devotional: You didn't receive a spirit of fear that returns you to bondage; you received the Spirit of adoption. This isn't merely theological doctrine—it's your identity foundation. When circumstances scream that you're abandoned, rejected, or forgotten, the Holy Spirit whispers, "Abba, Father." This intimate term reveals relationship, not religion. As God's child, you're not defined by your circumstances, your past, or others' opinions. You're defined by whose you are. The same Spirit that led Paul away from Asia and toward Macedonia leads you. Sometimes God's "no" protects you from what looks good but isn't His best. Trust that being led by the Spirit means you're never lost, even when the path seems unclear. Your inheritance isn't based on performance but on being His beloved child.
Reflection Question: In what area of your life do you need to remember you're a child of the King, not a victim of circumstances?
