The King They Didn't Expect

They were waving palm branches, laying down their cloaks, celebrating what they thought was the arrival of a conquering King.

But here’s the problem: they were right about who He was… but wrong about how WHY He came.  He was coming to die.

They expected a King on a war horse.

Jesus came riding on a donkey.

They expected a political victory.

Jesus came to give a spiritual victory.
