Distractions Are Inevitable Day 2
Day 2: Know the Word, Fire Back
Reading: Matthew 4:1-11
Devotional: Jesus did not debate the enemy. He did not negotiate, reason through feelings, or rely on what someone else had told him about Scripture. He responded with the word of God directly, immediately, and with precision. Notice that the adversary waited until day forty, when hunger and exhaustion had set in, before making his move. Hungry people make desperate decisions. Tired people lower their guard. The enemy is not original; he is strategic. The single most reliable defense you have against confusion, doubt, and spiritual deception is knowing what God has actually said. Not what you think He said. Not what you heard someone else say. What He said.
Reflection Question: Is there an area of your life where you have been operating on secondhand information about God rather than going directly to His word?
Practical Application: Choose one scripture this week to memorize. Write it on something you will see daily. Let it become reflex rather than effort.
