Distractions Are Inevitable Day 3

Day 3: When Exhaustion Becomes a Doorway

Reading: 1 Kings 19:1-18

Devotional: Elijah had just witnessed one of the most dramatic demonstrations of God's power in all of Scripture. He called down fire. He silenced false prophets. He outran a chariot. And then one threatening message from Jezebel sent him running into the wilderness, begging God to let him die. This is not weakness unique to Elijah. This is what happens when the weight of life accumulates and distraction convinces you that what God just did no longer matters. Notice how God responded. Not with rebuke. Not with disappointment. He sent rest, food, and water first. Then came the still, small voice. God meets exhaustion with gentleness before He meets it with direction.

Reflection Question: Are you currently running on empty, trying to serve God from a place of depletion rather than rest and renewal?

Practical Application: Identify one thing this week that drains you spiritually without restoring you. Give yourself permission to step back from it and instead spend that time in prayer or quiet rest before God.
